Cheating the Wedding Diet

With my wedding being less than a month away, I have (tried) to crack down on paying attention to what I eat for the next few weeks. After all, no one wants to rassle their way into their wedding gown, much less, get pictures of it.

So, with wedding season being upon us, I figured I’d share a couple of my favorite recipes with all you beautiful people. One thing I think is unique about the way I eat is that I still find a way to eat exactly what I want, when I want it. I will never deprive myself of something my body craves. However, I did cut out Dr. Peppers for now, but I have replaced them with Dasani’s flavored sparkling water; I get the caffeinated refreshment without all the sugar, calories, and sodium. Give it a try!

As for food, well, I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but I’ll save dessert for another blog. I usually eat a big dinner, so let’s start with that this time, shall we?

I’m a lover of carbs, chips, pasta, bread, you name it. But I also love meat, which is carb free and packed with protein. I like salad, but not usually by itself, so I made a lovely concoction the other day, with home made dressing, ya’ll! Steak salad with lemon vinaigrette was one of the best meals I have had in a hot minute. I was stuffed. The recipes is super simple. You need:

1.) flank steak

2.) Leafy green lettuce

3.) 1 tbsp oil

4.) 2 tbsp white vinegar

5.) 1 tbsp dijon mustard

6.) 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice

7.) salt and pepper to taste

Cook the steak to your liking (I’m a medium-rare kinda gal myself). Cut up the lettuce into a large bowl. While you’re cutting the lettuce, let your steak cool off, you don’t want a sizzling hot steak on top of fresh veggies. Add whatever vegetables you prefer (I do baby tomatoes, onions, and radishes).

For the dressing, go ahead and mix the ingredients into a shake-able bottle. This with help mix it up evenly and you can save some for another time! Keep in mind, this dressing is PACKED with flavor, so you won’t use all of it.

This salad has hardly any carbs, and most of the calories you are consuming are good calories. You can enjoy seconds, guilt-free!

Xoxo,

Corsi
