Get up git-up

So the other day I woke up for work, approximately 6:30 a.m. For those of you who know me well, you know that I am the farthest thing from a morning person. I am a decent functioning member of society between the hours of 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. So on this particular day when I woke up, I went to reach for my jeans and a t-shirt, as I do on most days. But to my dismay, I had no clean jeans. Lucky for me, my office is relatively laid back, so I don’t have to dress up much. However, I try my best to put effort into my office appearance at least a few times a week.

I was stuck between not wanting to dress up and also not having time to wash a pair of jeans, nor the effort. So I stare at my closet as I yawned and scratched my head. The day before, I had gone grocery shopping at Walmart and saw a few plain white tees that would be great for my wardrobe. Every girl needs a plain white/black tee to make statement accessories pop. So I dug out one of my new woppin’, $3.29 white tees, and found a plain black maxi skirt that I had forgot about way back when. Boom, It was flow and I was comfy.image1 (2)

Them I thought to myself, “this is a cute outfit, I can’t let it go to waste”. SO I threw on some of my favorite jewels (turquoise, of course), and the outfit was complete.

I am so use to going big or going home that I never consider the in-between options. I either dress to impress or dress like I’m homeless. So this outfit was a nice switch-up. In fact, I have started looking for more colors in maxi skirts; I could repeat this outfit with a different color twelve times before anyone noticed.

Accessories play a huge role in the outfit pictured, but they didn’t have to. This outfit would have still been adorable without all the extra git-up. It was effortless and trendy, something I’m not use to. When I dress up, I make an occasion of it. What’s worse is that I don’t plan my outfits, I’m terrible at it. I like it that way though. I love waking up not knowing what I’m gonna wear. Picking out an outfit is half of the fun for me, until I have to go on a long trip, of course. Then I just end up over-packing and then not wearing half of it when I get to my destination.

So here’s to spending less time in the closet and keeping it simple on the days when you would rather sleep!

Xoxo,

Corsi
